
Julie Ellen "Tawny", Kitaen, was an American actress, model and media celebrity. She lived from May 7, 1961 to May 7, 2021. Her career began as a TV actor acting in the TV films Malibu (1983), California Girls (1985). She also starred in comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984) as well as the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen received a lot of attention due to her appearances in numerous rock music videos of heavy metal. These included Ratt's "Back for More" (1984) and Whitesnake's "Still of the Night", "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again" (all 1987).In the 2000s, Kitaen transitioned into appearing in reality-TV shows, including The Surreal Life (2006) and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) and "Here I Go Again," the one that focused on Kitaen's issues with substance abuse. She was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the third child born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a housewife and a once-in-a-lifetime beauty pageant participant, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon sign business. Kitaen was born to a Russian-Jewish father as well as an Scottish mother. Kitaen was educated Jewish. [4][5] She began using the name "Tawny" at the age of 12 on her own initiative. She was dyslexic in her childhood. This made her drop out from Mission Bay High School. Seven years ago, at the age of 14 with backstage passes after a Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium, she saw the privileges offered to Frampton's wife Penny and set out to attain the same for herself.
